A friend of mine is the Educational Coordinator of an Art Gallery called Cubitt. They run a project called Everybody Draw, where they visit primary schools and supervise the kids drawing for an afternoon. Each session generates about 30 large pages of material drawn by children aged 5 to 11. There's some info here: http://cubittartists.org.uk/index.php?section=14 and here: http://everybodydraw.blogspot.com/

The aim of this weekend jam is to make games using this art, then to collect them on a website and send them back to the school, so the kids get a Christmas gift of being able to play games made with the art they drew this term. We're thinking that the best material will be by the 5-7 year olds (both boys and girls).

We are keen for people to make age-appropriate games, sensitive to the fact that they'll be played by 5-7 year olds (plus teachers, parents etc). We're thinking that this could be the start of a working relationship between the indie games scene and schools, which would be a good thing all round!

It's taking place on Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th of December, from 10am to about 6pm each evening. I will sort out a pub which can feed, seat and allow us to hear one another talk on the saturday night for as many people are up for it.

As with the World of Love jam earlier this year, it will be held in the 3rd floor meeting room of Linton House:

39-51 Highgate Road

Kentish Town (nearest tube)

London NW5 1RS

Cheers!

Ricky
